On Sundays

[When there is no feast]

 

Prokhimenon. Tone 1. [Psalm 32]

Verse: Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us.

Verse: Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous.

 

Alleluia [3]. Tone 1 [Psalm 17].

Verse:  It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people

           under me.

Verse: He magnifies the deliverances of his king; and sheweth

          mercy to his anointed.

 

Communion Anthem [Psalm 148]. 

Praise ye the Lord from the heavens. Alleluia.

 

 

Prokhimenon. Tone 2. [Psalm 117].

Verse: The Lord is my strength and my song.

Verse: The Lord hath chastened me sore.

Verse: The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble.

            thou made them all.

Verse: Stretch forth and prosper and reign because of truth

          and meekness and righteousness.

Verse: Thou, O Lord, shalt keep us and shalt preserve us.

Verse: He that dwelleth in the help of the most High shall

           abide under the shelter of the God of heaven.

Verse: The Lord will give strength unto his people.

Verse:  Bring unto the Lord, ye sons of God. Bring unto the Lord

           glory and honour.

Verse:  It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord.

Verse:  To proclaim thy mercy in the morning, and thy truth by

            night.

Verse: Vow, and pay unto the Lord your God.

Verse:  In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.

Verse: Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very

           great.

 

Alleluia [3].  Tone 2 [Psalm 148].

Verse: Praise ye the Lord from the heavens.

Verse: Praise ye him, all his angels.

Communion Anthem [Psalm 103].

 On Tuesdays

[Dedicated to the Forerunner John the Baptist]

Prokhimenon. Tone 7. [Psalm 63].

Verse: The righteous shall be glad in the Lord.

Verse: Hear my voice, O God.

 

Alleluia [3].  Tone 2 [Psalm 91].

Verse:  The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow

            like a cedar in Lebanon.

Verse:  Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall

            flourish in the courts of our God.

Communion Anthem [Psalm 111].

The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. Alleluia.

 

 

On Wednesdays

[Dedicated to the Mother of God]

Prokhimenon. Tone 3. [Luke 1]

Verse: My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath

          rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Verse:  For He hath regarded the low estate of His handmaiden.

 

Alleluia [3].  Tone 8 [Psalm 131].

Verse:  Arise, O Lord, into thy rest.

Verse:  The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; He will not turn

            from it.

Communion Anthem [Psalm 115].

I will take the cup of salvation, and

call upon the name of the Lord. Alleluia.

 


 

On Thursdays

[Dedicated to the Holy Apostles]

 

Prokhimenon. Tone 8. [Psalm 18].

Verse: Their voice is gone out into all the earth.

Verse: The heavens declare the glory of God.

Alleluia [3].  Tone 1 [Psalm 88].

Verse: The heavens shall declare Thy wonders.

Verse: God is glorified in the assembly of the saints.

Communion Anthem [Psalm 18].

Their voice is gone out into all the earth,

 and their words to the ends of the world.

 

 

 

On Fridays

[Dedicated to the Holy and Precious Cross].

 

Prokhimenon. Tone 7. [Psalm 98].

Verse: Exalt ye the Lord our God.

Verse: The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble.

Alleluia [3].  Tone 1 [Psalm 73].

Verse: Remember Thy congregation, which Thou hast purchased

          of old.

Verse: For God is our King of old, He has wrought salvation in the

          midst of the earth.

On Saturdays

Verse: Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous.

Verse: Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven.

Verse: Blessed are they whom Thou choosest, and causest to

          approach unto Thee.

Verse: And their remembrance from generation to generation.
