Hi can I ask , if our bodies are just a vessel while on earth, why does our religion not allow cremation?
Answer to Question 7.
Our bodies are not just a vessel. Man is what we call a psychosomatic
being, which means that his soul does not constitute the whole man, but
neither does his body. Both the body and the soul were created at the same
moment, the soul was not, like some like to believe, living before the
body and then at some moment entered into it. Man is not just a soul, he
is half soul and half body: without the one or the other he is incomplete.
Also judgement cannot be pronounced on man until the General Resurrection
when the body and soul will be reunited and man is again complete.
