Hello Fr. In todays reading John (something), Jesus says I must go to the Father who is greater than I. What does this mean as we are supposed to believe that Son and Father are the same
Answer to Question 602 Yes Christ said that he must go to the Father who is greater than him yet in another place he said I and the Father are one and he who has seen me has seen the Father. Christ is both God and man and when he speaks he sometimes speaks as a man and at other times with the authority of God. In this case Christ is speaking about his manhood. He is talking about the ascension of mankind to heaven where he will sit next to God.
