What are your views. On crying icons.. and statues.. what does are religion say?
Answer to Question 576 There are Icons that God reveals as miracle-working that have been blessed with the grace of God to give healing. There are also many Icons that are revealed as crying. These are not tears but Myron, a fragrant oil emitted from certain icons and holy relics of saints. When such Icons are brought to the forefront, we hear people saying that it’s a sign from God that something bad is going to happen. I would rather interpret these signs that they are a blessing from God and because they are miracles, that they are signs that God is still with us and hasn’t abandoned us. As for statues, these belong to the Roman Catholic Church and the recent statue that was claimed to be crying real tears (not Myron), I have no idea how they interpret this phenomenon.
