Is it true that St Savva didn't like women? It's a joke in Cyprus that if someone looks down on women, they are likened to St Savva.
Answer to Question 548 They do say that in Cyprus, but I believe it came about because pilgrims to his monastery in the Holy Land is restricted to men only so women assume that the saint must be a misogynist
