Morning pater my question is, is it only morning you have to gabnise the house or can it be any time and do i have to go outside first then do my house?
Answer to Question 511 There are no set rules for incense, you can do it at anytime of the day and as many times in the day. Traditionally our grandmothers would do it as a morning prayer and as you say they would first offer the incense outside. But what if you live in a high-rise flat, how do you go outside? God is everywhere so whether we go outside or stay inside it doesn't make much difference
Another member What is the short prayer to say while lighting the incense and blessing god?
Reply In church the priest says the following prayer when offering incense, I suppose it can be said also by laypeople: We offer incense unto Thee, O Christ our God, for a sweetsmelling savour of spiritual fragrance, which do thou accept upon Thy most heavenly altar; and send down upon us the grace of Thy most Holy Spirit.
Same member thank you. My mum always used to say. I Sto onoma to ayio Kai to ayio bnevmato. Ksoris do kako bou do spiti mas. Please excuse the spelling lol Is this also appropriate. Sorry for all the questions
Reply This people say while they make the sign of the Cross over the incense as a way of blessing the incense, but you have quoted it wrong. It is: Eis ton onoma tou Patros kai tou Yiou kai tou Agiou pneumatos, Amen.
