Good morning father. Is it bad to actually pray for yourself? It's something someone said who is very ill.
Answer to Question 478 No, all prayer is good, but I understand what this someone means. When we believe that everything that happens to us has been allowed by God, then we accept our illnesses as a trial we must come to terms with and even as a blessing to help us grow stronger in faith. In other words we put our complete trust in God. Of course that doesn't mean we stop praying for our salvation, we should pray incessantly for God's mercy.
