Question 464

Good day pater i have a question when i was born i was given the name christalla but when i got christened my nouna told the priest to christen me christina these are two different names. What is my name?? All my documents are with the name christalla.

Answer to Question 464

I had a man in my parish who was always known as Andreas, but he was baptized Nicholas. When he used to come for holy communion he would remind me to say Nicholas and when I buried him I again called him Nicholas and everyone thought I had made a mistake. Since then at his mnymosina I mention him as Andreas. God knows if we are known by two or more names and whether you are called Chrystalla or Christina he knows who you are. I think for clarity's sake that you should use your legal name Chrystalla, it is the name people know you by and I would think the name you recognize yourself as. You can of course use both names and have your legal name for worldly affairs and your Baptism name for religious purposes.
