Why weren’t the Greek turned to muslins allowed back in our church after the ottomans left ?
Answer to Question 317
Most of them had been Muslim for more than two or three generations so all they knew was that they were Muslim. Only the first generations that accepted the Muslim faith were actually baptized as Christians. Their children were never baptized and this continued until British rule. If they wished to return to the church they were free to do so, but they had to be baptized first. I think too many generations had passed that they forgot that they were originally of Greek blood.
